Learning Architect - MLC School Sydney 2003-2006
The main focus of this role was to promote, support, develop and implement an online learning framework that was aligned to the vision of the school. A major aspect of this role was meeting with teachers and students regarding their wants and needs for an online framework then putting these in perspective with the vision of the school and road map of development.
Achievements included development of three major systems that were completed integrated with each other:-
- A Learning Management System (The Bluesheet) that is a hub for students and teachers to communicate and share information. It is also a gateway for their online learning framework, Pangaea.
- An Online Learning Framework (Pangaea) that allows teachers to take complete management of student learning while delivering course content. Teachers can track student learning through a number of different mechanisms, which have been developed in coordination of research of current online trends as well as the requirements of teachers. Students can also focus on their progress as well as communicate with other students and discuss their ‘project’ with their teacher. This online framework has become the mainstream way of developing and distributing content at MLC.
- A digital repository (MusicNet) for content that could be searched and added to by the entire school community. Content was organised and could be accessed from anywhere. There is also integration with the school’s online subscriptions such as Grove to allow students to seamlessly find what they were looking for without needing to log into numerous systems.
